You love your hearing aids and now they are not working. How frustrating! But, we are here to help. We hope the troubleshooting flow chart below will assist you to troubleshoot your hearing aid problem so you can get back to living (and hearing) well.
My hearing aid stopped working
First, check the wax guard (also called a wax trap). 90% of the time a hearing aid stops working, the wax guard is clogged with wax or other debris.
Next, check power. Do you use batteries or rechargeable hearing aids?
Batteries:
Check your battery packaging. find the expiration date. The date should be at least one year from today's date. If not, discard those batteries and find or purchase batteries with an expiration date at least one year from today.
Next:
Remove the sticker on a new battery and wait to insert the battery for at least two minutes. when you have waited two minutes, insert the new battery.
Rechargeable:
Place the hearing aid in the charger
